Guess the Genotype #67

Can you guess this dog's genotype? Its breed?

This is Jaga, a female German shorthaired pointer, and is in one of the most common phenotypes associated with the breed.

To begin, this dog is liver. Though a dark liver, there is still a distinctive brown cast to the coat. Since the color is recessive, Jaga has to be bb liver.

Next, she is solid liver and thus is some form of black. There are to types of black in the dog world: dominant and recessive. The recessive is not common, and it appears that this breed expresses the dominant form of black. Since the breed appears to be fixed for the color, Jaga must be KK black.

Next, Jaga is piebald. Though not visible in the image I have given, she is. This appears to be the most common version of the Spotting locus seen in the breed, which means she must be spsp piebald.

In addition to this, the German shorthaired pointer breed is a ticked or roaned breed. In this case, Jaga is a roan, with white markings that have become nearly completely obscured by colored hairs. Roan is believed to be a modified form of ticking, and as such a dog has to have both dominant alleles to be roan. Ticking appears to be near-fixed in the breed, with the roan modifier being exceptionally common. I suspect Jaga is RR TT roan.

So, that's bb KK RR spsp TT or liver piebald roan.
